What is Moodle?

Moodle is a web-based course management system (CMS) sometimes known as a virtual learning environment (VLE). Moodle has become very popular with educators because it provides the best tools to manage and promote learning. Moodle is ideal for conducting fully online courses or to supplement blending learning.

Moodle for Students

Notre Dame College uses Moodle to administer hybrid and fully online classes. Courses that have required classroom meeting times or that meet face-to-face, even once, are considered hybrid and can be accessed through the portal at http://moodle.ndc.edu. Courses that do not meet on campus are considered fully online and can be accessed at http://ndc.learninghouse.com.

Since fully online students may be located anywhere in the world, NDC has provided an additional Moodle portal for these students with access to enhanced technologic tools, such as virtual classrooms. The fully online Moodle portal has different requirements for integration and works best when housed on its own dedicated server.
